Handoff notes between coding agents
💻 Codingcost: freedifficulty: easy
Problem
Switching coding agents mid-task loses context and causes rework.
Tools
Setup steps
- Before you switch tools, ask the current agent to write a HANDOFF.md in the repo covering the goal, what is done, open decisions, files touched, and the next three steps
- Commit the file on your branch (or keep it unstaged if the switch is temporary) so the next agent can read it
- Open the same repo in the next agent and tell it to read HANDOFF.md first, then continue
- Update or delete HANDOFF.md when the task is finished
